Joe and Cameron are from Brooklyn and are getting married THIS Saturday, but because of the distance we weren't able to do their engagement photos until this week. We met at Hops + Crafts in the Gulch and shared a beer, caught up on the latest wedding details, and took our first set of photos.
For those of you that don't know, my husband, Daniel, works at Barista Parlor Golden Sound, near the Gulch, so I had often driven around the area and thought about how I just wanted to walk around and explore the area for a shoot. I'm thankful I finally got the opportunity to explore the area and photograph Cameron and Joe here; I feel like it really fit their personalities.
They were such troopers, too. I half-jokingly suggested that we go "off-roading" to get this one particular shot, and before I knew it they had climbed up a wall and trekked up a steep, wet, and grassy hill. It was totally worth it too. I love an adventurous couple.
I normally end sessions once the sun sets, but there is the staircase in the heart of the Gulch that lights up at night and had always wanted to take photos there, so we headed that way after our little adventure. Little did I know that at the top of the staircase were some more illuminated panels and benches. I really liked how it all turned out. It's nice to mix things up sometimes.
Definitely one of my favorite shoots. I'll have to revisit this spot in the future. So excited to be shooting with Cameron and Joe again this Saturday at The Wrens Nest!
